Billy Daniel Whitt

Billy Daniel Whitt, 43, of Gray Court, S.C., passed away on April 29, 2017, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born June 1973 in Tampa, Fla., an identical twin of Robert James Whitt, Billy was a son of Gay Ann Cravey and James Daniel Whitt. He began his adult life by enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving in Kuwait. Most recently he was employed by the Michelin Tire Corporation at the US 1 plant in Greenville, S.C. He was also the co-owner, with Dieter Fremgen, of Warranty Roofing company. He was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 109 of Hickory Tavern. Billy was a nationally certified interior structural firefighter, Firefighter #1877 of the Hickory Tavern Fire Department and was also a Lieutenant in the Michelin Emergency Team, Call #603, where he served as a first responder, firefighter, and instructor. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017, in the chapel of the funeral home.
