Rev. Jack Edward King Sr.

Rev. Jack Edward King Sr., age 79, beloved husband of Linda C. King and resident of Laurens, S.C., passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Monday, April 3, 2017. Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Rev. J. W. and Edna King. While serving as a 2nd Lt. in the United States Air Force, he was noted as the Youngest Graduate of Officer Candidate School in S.C. Rev. King pastored numerous churches during his 56 years of ministry and was also a respected Christian business owner in Waynesville, N.C., and Laurens, S.C., for over 55 years. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 2 p.m., at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Laurens.. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
