Clinton Middle School Academic Team wins state title again

For the second year in a row, Clinton Middle School has won the South Carolina Academic Challenge, the term for the academic team competition, in Camden earlier today, Thursday, March 16.
CMS defeated Camden Middle School by a score of 41-26 in the semifinals, and then won against Indian Land Middle School with a score of 38-23 in the finals.

In the high school division, Clinton High made it to the semi-finals before losing to
Nation Ford High School with a score of 31-27 in the semifinals in the Large High Schools Division.

Sanders Middle School in Laurens also went as far as the semi-finals, where the team lost to AR Rucker.

“I’m very proud of all of the county’s teams,” said District 56 Superintendent David O’Shields. “Our community should be proud and embrace academic competitions with a similar fervor as other extracurricular activities.”
