Choice, LMU advance to Elite Eight

Luquon Choice and Lincoln Memorial are heading back to the NCAA Division II men’s basketball Elite Eight.

Choice, despite being held to 1 of 9 shooting and four points – with all four points in the first half – he and the LMU Railsplitters used a second-half surge to eliminate Queens with an 82-68 victory in the Southeast Regional Final in Charlotte.

LMU won the second of four meetings between the two teams this season, and exacted a bit of payback for its loss to Queens in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament in Greenville earlier this month.

Choice, by scoring four points, reached 2,000 career points. He is the third player in South Atlantic Conference history to reach such a milestone. He also had eight rebounds.

With the victory LMU advances to the Elite Eight, which begins next Wednesday in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Railsplitters advanced to last year’s national championship game before losing to Augustana (S.D.).
