Fatal crash near Hickory Tavern

An adult and two children are dead following a single-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on Neely Ferry Road near Covenant Drive in Laurens County near Hickory Tavern.

A fourth victim was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

According to S.C. Highway Patrol, the three deceased victims were from Clinton and none were wearing seat belts while traveling in an older model pickup.

According to reports, the deceased victims were Lonnie Owens, 57, and siblings Rashun Mims, 6, and Lashauna Mims, 3.

The three fatalities brings the total of deaths in vehicle accidents on roadways in Laurens County to nine since the beginning of 2017.
