Jeanette Pennington Carlton, 83, of 101 Old Airport Road, Laurens, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Hospice House of Laurens County. Sarah Cronic, a resident and civic activist of Laurens County, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Mrs. Cronic was born on September 11, 1925 in Montgomery, Alabama. Carolyn Moss Elrod, 81, of the Hickory Tavern Community, and widow of Jimmie Andrew Elrod, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Greenville Health System. Born in Elberton, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Amos Baxter Moss and Nina Lee Page Moss. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 4, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. There will be a private committal for the family in the church cemetery. Visitation will be in the church fellowship hall immediately following the memorial service. Joel Kenneth "Joe" Greer, 55, of 1002 Chestnut Street Extension, Laurens, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014, at his home. Colonel Lykes Shelton Henderson Jr.
died on August 30, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 3, 1946, in Albany, Georgia, he was the son of the late Lt. Colonel Lykes Shelton and Ruth Moyer Henderson. Susan Hall Mahon, 92, of 107 Lake Street, Laurens, and widow of John Hugh Mahon Sr. passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community. Born in York, she was a daughter of the late Martin Brian and Candace Quinn Hall. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, at First Presbyterian Church of Laurens.
