Born in Saluda, she was a daughter of the late Bill Timmerman and Clara Ellen Murrah Fowler. Funeral services were Saturday, September 17, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel with burial in McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery in Edgefield. James Riley Bailes, 76, of 233 Headwater Drive, Greenwood, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Hospice House of Laurens County in Clinton. Born in Simpsonville, he was the son of the late James Grady and Maggie Quinn Bailes. Laurens - Charles Junior Brown, 57, went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 23, 2016. Mr. Brown was born July 4, 1959 in Laurens. Funeral services were Sunday, September 25, at Fletcher Funeral Service.

Laurens - Raymond Russell (Russ) Burns Jr., son of the late R.R. Burns Sr. and the late Thelma Stroman Burns, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. The family had a visitation on Friday, September 23, at The Kennedy Mortuary. A private family service and burial was held on the family farm. Pastor John M. Cleveland, 77, of Travelers Rest, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Erskin and Margaret Goodjion Cleveland. The visitation was held Monday, September 26, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, with the funeral service following in the Northwest chapel. Burial was in Mountain View Memorial Park. Ninety Six - John W. Drummond, 96, "The Senator from Ninety Six", died on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at his home. Born in Ninety Six, he was a son of the late James William and Fannie Mae Smith Drummond. Services were on Wednesday, September 7, at First Baptist Church of Ninety Six. Faye "Pete" Stone Hughes, 71 of 128 Stratford Road, Greenwood, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016, peacefully at her home. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Iantha Price Stone. Victor M. Hunter, age 62, of 272 Winetta Street, Laurens, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at The Banner Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz.  Born in Laurens County, he was a son of Merdis Atterberry Hunter and the late Willie E. Hunter. Funeral service was held Friday, September 23, at the St. Paul First Baptist Church, followed by burial in the Calvary Memorial Garden.

Ronald "Ronnie" Paul Jones, age 68, of 12 Pamela Drive, Waterloo, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016. He was born in Laurens and was a son of the late Paul Cunningham and Mildred Clara Roberts Jones. Jimmie Lawrence McPherson, 97, resident of Carolina Gardens in Laurens, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at Laurens County Memorial Hospital. Born in Laurens, he was the son of the late William M. and Minnie Mayor Stribling McPherson. The family will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24. Suzanne Slater Miller, age 84, of Mountville, passed away September 9, 2016, at Laurens County Hospital. Ladriculas "Drek" Wells, age 38, of 15 Wheatland Way, Simpsonville, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
