Laurens sweeps basketball doubleheader from Clinton

After splitting a doubleheader Friday night against the visiting Clinton Red Devils, the Laurens Raiders’ varsity basketball teams swept a road doubleheader at Clinton Tuesday night.

Laurens’ boys rallied from 12 down toward the end of the third quarter ad used a 22-point fourth quarter to pick up a 62-55 victory over the Red Devils. Braylin McBeth had 15 points and Josh Greene added a team-high 19 points in the victory. Clinton was led by 14 points from Tymori Tribble.

In the girls’ contest Laurens took the lead for good in the middle of the third quarter, puling away after trailing by as much as five points for a 46-34 victory over Clinton. Laylay Todd had 17 points to lead Laurens, while Terriauna Bennett led Clinton with 13 points. Savanna Campbell added 12 points for Clinton.
