Nichols steps down as PC coach

Presbyterian College is searching for a new head football coach.

Harold Nichols, who finished his eighth season with the Blue Hose with a 31-7 loss at South Alabama Saturday night, resigned his post Sunday. In a statement on the Presbyterian College Blue Hose website, Nichols said, “I have truly enjoyed my time as the head coach at my alma mater.

“I took this job to make a difference in the lives of the young men at PC and to lead the Blue Hose football team on this Division I journey we’ve all been on. The program is now in much better shape than when I arrived, and that makes me proud of my time here.”

There was no immediate replacement named for Nichols, who finishes with a record of 19-67. He was the Co-Big South Coach of the Year in 2014 when PC finished with a 6-5 mark.
